The trade that sent forward Oliver Bjorkstrand from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Seattle Kraken somewhat shocked many in the hockey world, basically because of what the return was.
However, it's a very nice addition for the Kraken, who on paper, is much more dangerous of a team than last season.
According to @nhlbreakers on Instagram, Bjorkstand was not very happy about how the trade happened.
First, he bought a house and got married a week before the trade, so obviously, ha had plans to stay in Columbus for the long term. Then the worst part of all, he and his wife were on their honeymoon when he was told over the phone that he had been traded.
Per @nhlbreakers:
"Oliver Bjorkstrand also liked tweets saying that the Blue Jackets were fleeced in trading him for a 3rd and 4th rounder. 😬
Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen called Bjorkstrand on his honeymoon to tell him he was off to Seattle"
