The wait is finally over!
Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has announced that Patrice Bergeron has made his decision for next seasons.
The deal is a one-year contract through the 2022-23 season worth $2.5 million, plus an additional $2.5 million in performance-based incentives.
This deal could pay Bergeron up to $5,000,000 if he can achieve all his performance bonuses. This deal also pushes the bulk of his cap hit into next season, leading many to believe this could be the Bruins final attempt at a Stanley Cup before a rebuild.
This deal will leave the Bruins approximately $2,000,000 in cap space with the team still needing to sign Pavel Zacha and potentially David Krejci.
