The Boston Bruins are waiting to find out who their second round opponent will be as the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders are in a tight battle that could go 7 games.
The Islanders currently lead the series 3-2 and host the Penguins tomorrow night.
Normally this would be good news for all the banged up Bruins however not for one.
The Bruins officially announced that the season and playoffs has ended for one forward.
Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced that Ondrej Kase has been shutdown for the year after just 3 regular season games and no playoff appearances.
Kase has played a total of 9 regular season games and 11 playoff games since being acquired at last year's trade deadline.
He'll be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights this offseason.
