The Boston Bruins weren't able to get one of their prospects signed and he'll walk to free agency.
General manager Don Sweeney had traded for the signing rights of JD Greenway earlier this offseason in hopes of getting him officially in the system before the August 15 deadline.
Unfortunately that goal wasn't accomplished and the 23 year old will hit the open market.
Greenway presented a nice opportunity for the Bruins to strengthen their defensive depth in the organization and they were familiar with the New York State native who played the last two years at the University of Maine.
He was a third round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2016.
