Less than 24 hours before the start of the Frozen Four tournament at TD Garden, college hockey fans in the Boston area received some massive news.

Hockey East just announced that they have signed a six-year deal with ESPN and ESPN+ to host even more college hockey games on television and streaming platforms alike.

As per Hockey East's press release, both the men's and women's hockey championships will also be presented by ESPN and its affiliates.

"The agreement will feature the 21 NCAA Division I teams across the men's and women's leagues, beginning this fall through the 2027-28 season. The agreement includes over 300 games annually with all contests available on ESPN+ and features three games on ESPNU each season.

Streaming on ESPN+ will be all men's and women's home games throughout the season as well as the entirety of both the men's and women's postseason tournaments. The Hockey East Women's Tournament Championship is set to be televised annually on an ESPN network."

The Hockey East Division has produced some of the top players and teams to ever come out of the NCAA ranks. It features some of the top programs in the nation and, year in and year out, remains one of the most competitive divisions in the game.

The most recent regular season standings are a great example of the parity that exists within Hockey East and its schools.
