As we prepare for the Holiday break, the NHL has a jam-packed schedule of 28 games over the next three days.

That may now change due to the Winter Storm, Elliott, that is expected to hit several parts of North America.

According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the league is considering postponing at least the Friday night game between the Sabres and Lightning, and maybe more.

As per Seravalli:

''Hearing #Sabres / #GoBolts game on Friday night is likely to be postponed with impending winter storm.''

'May not be the only game on the slate postponed - aside from safety issue for fans, #NHL doesn't want to teams being stranded for holidays.'

The storm is expected to bring significant snowfall, freezing rain and high winds to a large portion of Canada and the United States. Due to that, it has left the NHL with a difficult decision.

With it being this close to the holidays it should make the decision much easier to postpone as many games as the league has to.
