TSN's Darren Dreger has reported that the Winnipeg Jets are finalizing a deal on their new head coach.
As per Dreger:
"The Winnipeg Jets and veteran coach Rick Bowness are working on finalizing his agreement to be the next coach of the Jets. This will end a thorough interview process for the @NHLJets that began with Barry Trotz as the target. Experience a key factor here."
Pretty cool story as the veteran Rick Bowness was previously head coach for the previous Jets franchise during the 1988-89 NHL season. Now, 33 years later, it appears as though he will be back behind the Winnipeg bench.
