The Boston Bruins will conclude their four-game road trip tomorrow night at the Winnipeg Jets and the close out the final few games of the regular season before the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Patrice Bergeron returned to the lineup last night in the Bruins 2-1 win at the Minnesota Wild and news on the team's overall healthy is getting better.
Head coach Bruce Cassidy gave his team the day off from the ice, but he still met with the media. He confirmed that defensemen Zdeno Chara and Charlie McAvoy, along with forward Jake DeBrusk, have all started skating again in Boston. David Backes is likely to start skating again on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Rich Nash remains off the ice.
Cassidy did not give us a time table for the return of any of his injured players, but this news certainly makes us optimistic that the team will be close to full health by the time the postseason begins.
