Only 45 coaches in NHL history have more postseason wins than Bruce Cassidy.
When you think of how many head coaches there have been over the years, that's quite the accomplishment.
Cassidy might own a career playoff record of 35-37 (he's 33-33 with the Bruins alone), but his acquired experience speaks for itself.
After helping the Bruins clinch their sixth straight postseason appearance last week, the bench boss now aims to keep winning once the puck drops on the playoffs.
Should the B's win a handful of games in their quest for the Stanley Cup, Bruce Cassidy would become just the seventh active head coach to get 40 postseason victories in 80 or fewer games.
The other coaches to reach 40 wins in under 80 games are : Mike Sullivan (63 games), Lindy Ruff (65 games), Peter DeBoer (71 games), Peter Laviolette (73 games), Jon Cooper (74 games) and Bruce Boudreau (77 games).
Because Cassidy still needs five more wins to get to 40, that means that the earliest he could reach the mark is in 77 games, matching Vancouver's Bruce Boudreau.
Only time will tell if Cassidy can add his name to the prestigious list!
