The Boston Bruins announced today (July 28th), that the organization is now accepting new applicants for the 2022-23 "Diversity and Inclusion Scouting Mentorship Program."

It will be the second annual instalment which started in September of 2021.

"The program aims to mentor and elevate individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and provide a basis for careers in scouting or the hockey industry."

The Bruins released this statement:

"Each participant will be partnered with a mentor in the Bruins' Hockey Operations Department from September, 2022, to May, 2023. Participants will gain knowledge by breaking down film, participating in monthly virtual study sessions and gathering for group workshops with fellow participants in the program. By providing hands-on experience, mentorship and networking opportunities, the program will help empower participants and diversify the pool of candidates for future scouting and hockey operations positions."

Last year's program participants included Danielle Marmer, who was subsequently hired by the Bruins in July, 2022, as Player Development and Scouting Assistant. In her role, Marmer works directly with Player Development Coordinator Adam McQuaid to help develop prospects throughout the entire Bruins system"
