The Boston Bruins went along their offseason and working as if goalie Tuukka Rask wouldn't be back.

There was lots of chatter that he would be back with Boston, sign with a different contender or possibly even retire after rehabbing from surgery.

However over the last couple of weeks he's been practicing with the Bruins as an "emergency goalie" which was a pretty major hint.

Then president Cam Neely told reporters last week that there was absolutely no talk between the two sides about a possible return, however things to have changed fast.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed to reporters that the two sides are currently negotiating a contract and there's already a plan in place for Rask.

The goalie will sign with the B's and get in some AHL work before getting back with the NHL club.

The B's will now have 3 NHL goalies on their roster as their big offseason signing, Linus Ullmark has a 2.52 goals against average and .922 save percentage while the young Jeremy Swayman has looked pretty solid for a 23 year old with a 2.29 goals against average and .917 save percentage.

Swayman will likely be the odd man out.
