The Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks kicked off the 2022-23 regular season with two games for the NHL Global Series in Prague, Czech Republic.
Although the games appeared to be enjoyed by everyone in attendance, it now appears not everyone supported the action. That being NHL legend, Dominik Hasek, who stated that the NHL is banned from ever returning.
Hasek took to his Twitter account to share the following information:
''During the weekend 2 @NHL games were played in Prague. The leadership of the NHL did not respect the position of our MFA that Russian players should not play. Until the current leaders of the NHL resign and the new apologize to our country, the NHL is no longer welcome in the ČR.''
Before the two games for the Global Series, the Czech government took a stance that no Russian players would be allowed to play. However, the Sharks and Predators claimed that they'd refuse to play if not all their players were allowed entry. Ultimately the government agreed to allow the Russian players access, but they apparently won't be willing to do it again.
