Former Bruins defenseman announces retirement

On Saturday, a one time defenseman for the Boston Bruins officially announced his retirement from pro hockey.
After 17 years of playing professional hockey, Andrej Meszaros called it a career in an Instagram post with the following caption:
''Thank you to everyone who was part of my hockey career. It was a privilege to play in the NHL. Thank you to each organization I played for. @senators @tblightning @philadelphiaflyers @nhlbruins @buffalosabres @hc_sibir @hcslovan @dukla.trencin @hk95povazskabystrica @hockeyslovakia
I will cherish every moment. #retirement.''

Meszaros was originally selected 23rd overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2004. He played 645 games with the Senators, Lightning, Flyers, Bruins and Sabres, registering 63 goals and 175 assists.
He left the NHL at the age of 30 after the 2014-15 season, spending four years in the KHL before returning home to play in the Slovakian Extraleague.
Meszaros skated in just 14 games and collected 2 goals and 3 assists.
