David Pastrnak and Team Czechia played Jeremy Swayman and Team USA early Sunday morning in the bronze medal game at the 2022 IIHF World Championships in Finland.

Former Boston Bruins Karson Kuhlman opened the scoring in the game, as the United States got off to a 3-1 lead after the first period. The Czechs scored the lone goal in the second to cut the lead to 3-2, heading into the third.

Then, the wild third period started. Pastrnak tied the game just 51 seconds into the period and scored his second just under three minutes later. The Czech Republic would go on to outshoot the US 18-7 in the third and score six goals in the final frame to win 8-4.

Pasta was the hero for Team Czechia, as he had a hat-trick in the third period to help his team claim the bronze medal. Swayman made 25 saves in the losing effort against the Czechs.
