Now that the Bruins have officially parted ways with long-time goaltender Tuukka Rask, the Boston franchise can look towards its future between the pipes.

General Manager Don Sweeney made a splash last off-season when he signed unrestricted free agent Linus Ullmark to a fairly lucrative contract.

Swayman has been red-hot as of late, winning three of his past four outings with his only loss coming in OT. The 23-year-old has allowed two goals or less in 15 of his 21 starts this season, and currently sits in fifth place with a .925% save percentage among NHL goaltenders who have played in ten games or more.

As the playoff race continues to intensify in the Eastern Conference, it will be interesting to see if Head Coach Bruce Cassidy will turn to his young netminder more often from here to the end of the regular season's calendar. Swayman has a $925 000 cap hit through the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
