With the Boston Bruins on the brink of elimination against the Carolina Hurricanes, the team is trying to keep its playoff hopes alive and force a game seven.

Especially with franchise records that may be in reach for the club's most veteran skater, Patrice Bergeron.

The captain recently finished playing in his 18th NHL season, all with the Bruins, where he's currently skated in 1,216 games and has amassed 400 goals and 582 assists for a grand total of 982 points.

Most importantly, Bergeron has played in 165 playoff games, contributing 49 goals and 77 assists and, of course, winning the Stanley Cup in 2011.

Bergeron is already climbing up the Bruins' all-time playoff leaderboards in the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs. Particularly in games played, goals, assists and points.

So far this postseason, the captain has 3 goals and 3 assists in the 5 games played against the Hurricanes.

Bergeron needs six more goals to tie Cam Neely for first all-time on the Bruins' all-time playoff list. He trails former teammate David Krejci by just five assists for second all-time (48 behind Ray Bourque for first), and he recently passed Krejci to take sole possession of second in points and trail Bourque for first place by 35 points.

Depending on how deep of a run Boston goes on, the captain would most likely need at least another playoff run or two to come near Bourque's record in assists in points.

Obviously, the ultimate goal for Patrice Bergeron will be raising the Stanley Cup as the Boston Bruins captain, especially nearing the end of his storied career.
