The Boston Bruins will have a couple of roster spot battles when training camp opens next month.
The most intriguing one is the one between the pipes.
While Tuukka Rask is without a doubt the Boston Bruins starting goalie, newly signed backup Jaroslav Halak can give Rask a much bigger battle for the starting job than Anton Khudobin could have.
Can Halak push Rask to be better, can he actually steal his job?
"There's always a competitive situation and I'm sure you guys will try to create something out of it, too, so we'll see how it goes," Halak said. "Every year we start from zero and I think the goal for every team is to have two good goaltenders and then you see how it plays out. You spread out the playing time between both of them and hope that going into the playoffs, everyone is fresh and ready to go. But I think the team has the luxury to have two good goaltenders."
Rask went on to say that Khudobin's performance last year really helped Rask save his energy and put together a bounce back season.
What do you think of the goalie tandem for this season?
