Jim Montgomery was hired as the new head coach of the Boston Bruins on July 1st, taking over for former bench boss Bruce Cassidy.

The narrative around Cassidy was that the younger players maybe didn't get as much of a chance as they should have, and that's all on personal opinions as we'll never really know the truth. However, as Montgomery shared ahead of training camp, his central theme throughout will be ''opportunity.''

Montgomery shared his message to players:

''The opportunity on the backend with two guys injured and with Marchy out, you know, the opportunity is there, which everyone looks for in camp. Then I talked specifically about being prepared and being on time, and we have a lot of people here to help ... We're in it together.''

He also touched on what some lines could look like during the regular season and how chemistry changes things:

''Chemistry with lines, there's always a moving target. You know that Bergy and Marchy are going to have chemistry; who's the perfect fit to be with them, right? We're hoping that's JD.''

''Then we have the opportunity for Pasta and Krech to play together as a duo, and then Taylor Hall rides shotgun with them. But, if things aren't working, you'll see I juggle lines daily and within games too.''
