The Boston Bruins are off to a historic 38-6-4 start and a big chunk of that can be credited to Jim Montgomery.
The Bruins new bench boss is getting attention from around the league because of the team's success. However, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper knew that Montgomery had it in him the whole time.
Chris Kenn of NHL.com asked the Tampa coach about him and Montgomery's relationship:
''I know the new coach is a hell of a coach. I've known him for a long time - what he did in junior, what he did in college. So, am I surprised the team's having the success they're having? I'm not.'
Unfortunately, Cooper and the Lightning got the better of Montgomery and the Bruins a with a 3-2 win.
