This story comes to us from rural Alberta where the Stony Plains Flyers played against the Strathcona Bruins. While not close to the scale of the Bruins incident from 1979 this gives off real Bruins in the crowd vibes.

We don't see fans and players interact like this very often, but it does happen. In this case Nicholas Johnson of the Stony Plain Flyers observed a fan in the crowd interacting with his mother. When Johnson approached he witnessed the fan shove his mother and all bets were immediately off.

Johnson immediately entered the crowd and was observed in a physical confrontation with the fan. While the league understand Johnson's actions they couldn't accept them and they issued him an 8 8 games suspension for the incident.

This 8 game suspension is likely something Johnson wears with pride as I think any of us hockey fans proudly would.
