The Tampa Bay Lightning have joined the rest of the top Atlantic Division teams by has bolstering their lineup via trade, however, they gave up a massive haul.
The Lightning made a deal with the Nashville Predators for forward Tanner Jeannot, but as Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman shared, the return is shockingly large:
Jeannot, who's in just his second full season in the NHL, has recorded 5 goals and 9 assists through 56 games. Tampa's probably hoping for the Jeannot from his rookie season last year, as he collected 24 goals and 17 assists in 81 games.
Despite giving up a lot of assets, the Lightning are following the formula that's gotten them to three consecutive Stanley Cup Finals. Paying ‘'too much'' for a middle-six winger and most likely extend them to a team friendly deal.
As they did by acquiring Barclay Goodrow, Blake Coleman, Nick Paul and Brandon Hagel in previous years.
