Jake Debrusk wasn't the first member of his family to play in the NHL, as his father Louie spent 11 seasons in the league that lasted from 1991 to 2003.

Now a sideline analyst and announce for the Sportsnet, Louie was at TD Garden to watch his son and the Boston Bruins host the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night.

Unfortunately, he also got a first hand look at an injury that his son suffered early in the first period. See below:

Although Jim Montgomery stated that DeBrusk just got the wind knocked out of him, his dad Louie had an amazing live reaction to the play.

He even gave a little insider information on a possible nagging injury for Jake:

''Kid's pretty shaken up. He doesn't stay down too often like that ... been dealing with little bit of an injury in the upper body, looks like it catches him right in that spot.''

That wasn't even the best part, as Louie slipped in the following before the head play-by-play took over:

''Why do I want to drop the gloves with Ekholm right now.''

DeBrusk finished the game with one shot, one block, one hit and was a minus-two in 15:28 of ice time.

Below is a throwback to the two's extremely wholesome interview from when the Bruins visited Edmonton back in 2020.

And his reaction to Jake's goal from that same game:
