As we reported twice before, longtime Boston Bruins trainer Don DelNegro is retiring after the 2021-22 season after 29 years with the franchise.
Earlier in the day, DelNegro was gifted a customized golf cart from the team, and prior to puck drop, he was giving a video tribute that included past and present Bruins' players.
After the Bruins defeated the Buffalo Sabres 5-0 in their final home game of the season, the praise for DelNegro kept coming. First, the entire team came over to say thank you, including goaltenders Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark, including DelNegro, into their trademark hug:
Then, the entire team came to centre ice to take a photo with the longtime trainer, a memento he can keep for the rest of his life. Check the video below for the team picture:
A moment like what happened after the game between the entire Bruins' team and Don DelNegro shows how close the trainers and players really are and how much respect is between the two.
Congrats on a long, successful career, Don!
