The NHL is always looking for ways to make the game safer for players. For reference, the league most recently made a rule for all new players entering the league be required to wear visors.
The NHL has now made it mandatory for all players who entered the league in 2019-20, or later, to wear helmets during warmups.
Sportsnet's Chris Johnston shared the following information yesterday:
As reported tonight on @TSNHockey ''Insider Trading,'' the NHL is making it mandatory for future players to wear a helmet in pre-game warmups.
The rule applies to those who entered the league in 2019-20 or later. Players who reached the NHL before they are exempt.
