Are goaltenders around the NHL purposely giving themselves an edge?
Apparently, as Michael Russo of The Athletic reports, the league and its 'Situatuon Room'' has noticed an increase of net dis-lodges this season. However, there's also worry that goalies are finding simple ways to get the whistle themselves.
According to Russo, it will be a big topic at the next GM's meetings:
''It was noticed in the Situation Room last night that Murray was wiggling the net during TV timeout. League is actually testing nets coming up but also clipping goalies taking nets off moorings and bringing examples to GM's Meeting in March. Murray's net came off twice last night.''
Is this something the NHL has noticed as larger issue across the league? It may be difficult to come up with a solution, as the nets need to come off easily for players' protection.
