NHL veteran Jakob Silfverberg officially calls it a career
Anaheim Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg has announced his retirement from the NHL at age 33.
Silfverberg, known for his dedication, recorded 168 goals and 373 points in 817 NHL games.
Jakob Silfverberg announces that he's retiring from the NHL at the end of his season. Originally drafted by Ottawa, he spent the last 11 years with Anaheim.
Originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators, he expressed gratitude to the Ducks organization, teammates, and fans in a statement.
Ducks GM Pat Verbeek praised Silfverberg's character and contributions. Speculation suggests Silfverberg may return to his native Sweden to play for Brynas.
