June 27th is a great day in Boston Bruins history at the NHL Entry Draft.

Two different players, ten years apart, were drafted on this day by the Bruins, who both later became polarizing figures in the franchise.

First, David Krejci was drafted in the third round (63rd overall) at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft at the RBC Centre in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Krejci would play 15 seasons with Boston between 2006 and 2021 and was part of the Bruins' Stanley Cup win in 2011. He also led the NHL in points during the 2011 and 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs. In 962 career games, the Czech native collected 215 goals and 516 assists for a total of 730 points. He would also record 42 goals and 82 assists in 156 postseason games.

Krejci is 7th all-time in games played, 7th in assists, and 8th in points in Bruins' franchise history. As for playoffs ... he's 3rd all-time in games played, 6th in goals, 2nd in assists and 3rd in points.

Ten years later ...

The Bruins would select another Czech-born player at the 2014 draft at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. David Pastrnak was drafted in the first round (25th overall) by the Boston Bruins.

In eight seasons and 510 games since, Pasta has collected 240 goals and 264 assists for a total of 504 points. In the postseason, he has appeared in 70 games and has recorded 30 goals and 44 assists.
