Sooner or later, the Boston Bruins are going to need prospects coming up to the NHL, and surprisingly, there are some darkhorse candidates on the rise.
One them is 22 year old Georgi Merkulov, who is enjoying an impressive first pro year with the Providence Bruins of the AHL. Through 41 games this season, he has registered 11 goals and 19 assists, sitting second on the team with 30 points.
A big reason for that is the improvement of his shot, more specifically, his one timer. He recently showcased that against the Utica Comets when he unleashed a Pasta-like shot from the circles to give his team the lead.
