Goaltending prospect, Brandon Bussi started the 2022-23 season with the Maine Mariners, the Boston Bruins ECHL affiliate. In four games, he collected a 3-1-0 record, a 2.50 GAA and a .922 SV%.
After a crazy past week, Bussi has found himself as the Providence Bruins' number-one goaltender.
Jeremy Swayman was injured, meaning Keith Kinkaid was called up to backup Linus Ullmark, but then Kyle Keyser (new AHL starter) suffered a lower-body injury on Saturday, forcing Bussi into action.
However, Bussi was more than up to the task, as he put up a 1.10 GAA and a SV% of .961 in two straight victories, including a 24-save shutout in a 1-0 win over the Springfield Thunderbirds on Sunday evening.
