Barry Trotz was fired by the New York Islanders after they failed to make the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs.
He's one of the top free agent coaches on the market and many teams, if not all, with vacant head coaching jobs have inquired about him.
As per TSN's Darren Dreger, Barry Trotz has made a decision on his NHL future:
'' Sources say Barry Trotz has decided NOT to immediately jump back into coaching. Trotz informed the Winnipeg Jets of his decision today and intends on continuing to focus on family. Trotz acknowledged how difficult the decision was to not accept the head coaching job in Winnipeg.''
It makes sense with the previous reports that Trotz was maybe looking to get into a management job in the NHL instead.
We'll see where the future takes the legendary coach!
