Per reporter Anthony SanFilippo of Crossing Broad,' free agent head coach Barry Trotz rejected a very high offer from the Philadelphia Flyers.
SanFilippo reports that Trotz rejected a multi-year, $7 million plus offer from the Flyers that would have made him the highest paid coach in NHL history.
Per @nhlbreakers on Instagram:
''Trotz was Philly's first choice, but when Barry officially declined the Flyers' offer on Tuesday they turned to John Tortorella.''
'The hiring of Tortorella is expected to made official by the team any day now.''
