When veterans Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci decided to return to the Boston Bruins on one-year deals, it was apparent the team was going for one last possible run at a Stanley Cup.

Now, the team is off to probably the best start in its 98-year history, and it's a no-brainer that general manager Don Sweeney must go all-in this season. Because of the 17-2-0 start for the B's, NHL insider Frank Seravalli has officially linked them to the top forward available.

Seravalli recently joined ''Canucks Central'' on Sportsnet 650 to discuss a potential fit for the Bruins and Vancouver captain Bo Horvat:

''I'll throw one team at you - the Boston Bruins. They're a team that's well-geared for playoff success with the start to the season they've had, but who's going to be their long-term fit down the middle? He would be a great fit.''

Horvat is off to a hot start on a struggling Canucks team, with 15 goals and six assists in 19 games. The centre carries a $6.5 million cap hit that expires after this season.

Sweeney would have to give up at least the 2023 or 2024 first-round pick, a prospect and maybe a roster player.

NHL players the Bruins are willing to give up include Craig Smith, Mike Reilly and potentially other names like Matthew Grzelcyk and Brandon Carlo have been thrown around. However, they won't have much to offer from the system, perhaps defensive prospect Mason Lohrei or even Fabian Lysell?
