The Boston Bruins have the perfect opportunity to change up their roster after their biggest rival, the Montreal Canadiens placed a 25-year-old on waivers.

The Montreal Canadiens have just recently placed 25-year old forward Raphael Harvey-Pinard on waivers, creating the perfect opportunity for the Bruins.

This move was announced by insider Renaud Lavoie during the middle of the New York Rangers game against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday afternoon.

Waivers: Rafael Harvey-Pinard (MTL)

The young forward spent the start of the season on Injury Reserve (IR) and then joined the Canadiens AHL affiliate teams for a two-week conditioning stint.

The period allowed for players returning from injuries to go in the AHL ended on Saturday, forcing management to place him on the waiver wire for any team to claim him for free.

The Canadiens have placed forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard on waivers for the purpose of a loan to the Laval Rocket.

Harvey-Pinard was the Montreal Canadiens 201st overall pick back in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and has only managed to play 45 games last season due to injuries.

He posted a career high in the NHL back in the 2022-23 season when he managed to score 20 points, including 14 goals, in just 34 games.

However, the 25-year old is currently in the final season of his two-year, $1,100,000 AAV deal. Making him the right price for the Boston Bruins to acquire him.

The Boston Bruins are wanting to change things up on their roster, and they can acquire him for free, and he doesn't carry a massive salary if the Bruins do decide to. The youngster has a lot of potential if the Bruins do decide to make this move.
