The Boston Bruins are currently off the ice until Wednesday because they have five players in COVID protocol.

While obviously unfortunate, this also give the B's a chance to regroup as they've watched themselves slip down the MassMutualEast standings and currently sit in 4th place with just a 3 point lead on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Luckily for them the Flyers are struggling heavily and won't make up those points while the B's are in protocol.

The trade deadline is just around the corner and like a broken record the B's need secondary scoring once again.

It's an area that general manager DonSweeney just seems like he refuses to address for whatever reason but it could actually happen this year and they might finally bring in a name that they've been heavily attached to for the last couple of years.

David Pagnotta reports that the Boston Bruins are once again connected to New Jersey Devils forward Kyle Palmieri in trade speculation.

The Devils are out of the mix once again and despite Palmieri staying loyal to the Devils over the years, it seems he's finally willing to help the team out and a accept a trade to land the team some assets.

The 30 year old has a modified no trade clause and is in the final season of his deal that has a $4.65million cap hit. It's likely the B's would have to give up a roster player combined with a pick or a prospect.

Palmieri has been a consistent goal scorer throughout his career despite his struggles this season and would definitely benefit playing beside either David Krejci.

Do you think Palmieri would be a great fit for the B's top six?
