The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney don't exactly have the biggest amount of cap space in the world, but Sweeney might be able to pull a quick one.
As of now, the Bruins have $12million worth of cap space with Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo and Danton Heinen needing to be signed.
There's also been some chatter that the Bruins would be interested in keeping Marcus Johansson around, however the 28 year old will likely get some pretty good offers on the open market.
According to The Fourth Period, the Bruins might go after another versatile forward who could cost less than Johansson.
TFP reports that the Bruins are showing interest in 31 year old winger Mats Zuccarello.
Zuccarello was acquired by the Dallas Stars at the trade deadline and unfortunately just like Johansson was injured soon after being acquired.
However the winger had a huge performance in the playoffs registering 11 points in 13 playoff games for the Stars.
Would he be a great fit on the second line?
