The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney are doing their best right now to try and give forward JakeDeBrusk a fresh start.

Sweeney confirmed the reports that DeBrusk and his agent have asked for a trade out of Boston.

Various reports have at least 7 teams interested in acquiring the forward.

However Sweeney might wait a little while as the team waits for Brad Marchand to come back from suspension.

According to Ben Kuzma of the The Province in Vancouver, the Canucks have strong interest in DeBrusk.

However the problem is the Canucks are a little tight against the cap and would need the B's to take a contract back.

Kuzma believes that Tanner Pearson would be the likely name headed the other way as he could also use a fresh start.

After registering 21 goals and 24 assists for 45 points in 69 games with the Canucks during the 2019-20 season, he struggled last year as the Canucks were destroyed by COVID and has only 8 points in 24 games so far this season.

The 29 year old is signed through the 2023-24 season with an AAV of $3.25million.

Would you make this trade?
