The only thing left on the Bruins' wishlist this season is a Stanley Cup and a David Pastrnak extension.

In no particular order, but a Pasta deal as soon as possible would be ideal.

Rich Keefe of WEEI tried to break the news on New Year's Eve when he tweeted the following out:

Scoops Keefe: The Bruins and David Pastrnak are finalizing an 8 year deal worth $88 million.

Clearly, that wasn't the case, as it's now almost three weeks later, and nothing about a Pastrnak extension has been announced. Until now, but unfortunately, it's the same guy doubling down on what he first reported.

As per Keefe on the Rich Keefe Show Wednesday morning:

''This source has been right before [and] I stand by it.''

''The source was adamant that the deal was done, and they didn't know when they were going to announce it.''

He makes a good point that he has nothing to gain if he is right, or he just can't admit that he was terribly wrong.

At the same time, Pastrnak's agent J.P. Barry is notorious for negotiating tactics, as he explained, and isn't afraid to take it down to the wire. The Bruins are also known to keep things like this pretty ''hush hush'' until they feel it's time to announce the news.

Let's hope a deal is done because Pasta is entering his prime, and we're just getting a glimpse of what he's capable of. Through 43 games, the 26-year-old has registered 35 goals and 27 assists.
