Is Alexander Ovechkin open to the Washington Capitals trading him?
Ovie is one of the few players who choose to spend their entire career with the team that drafted them because the Capitals have been contenders for most of the past decade.
However, that could potentially change, as Greg Wyshynski of ESPN has reported that the Capitals captain wants the team to stay competitive during the end of his career.
''Alex Ovechkin has reportedly told Capitals management that he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild while he chases the goal record. Per, Greg Wyshynski.
In his career, the ''Great 8'' has registered 799 goals and 643 assists in 1305 games. Ovechkin is currently third in NHL history in goals, as he's two behind Gordie Howe for second and 95 behind Wayne Gretzky for most all-time.
