Times are tough for the New York Rangers as of late!
After making it to within two wins of the Stanley Cup Final last year, the Blue Shirts have been mediocre to start the 2022-23 campaign.
Now, the club is reportedly looking to part ways with a very recent top ten pick. According to Ali Murji, the Rangers are taking calls on 2020 first overall pick, Alexis Lafreniere.
Source tells me teams have started calling on #NYRAlexis Lafrenière, doesn't look like any move is coming in the next few days though. Also told if a deal were to happen the Rangers are looking for a first and/or a top end player.
Lafreniere seems to be falling out of the picture in New York, as head coach Gerard Gallant has decided to healthy scratch the 21-year-old.
He currently has 5 goals and 12 assists in 36 games this season, and is on pace for a career-high in all categories.
