Boston Bruins defenseman Matthew Grzelcyk underwent a right shoulder open stabilization procedure on June 3rd, and recovery time was expected to be five months. This would have put him out until at least early November.
Earlier this week, the defenseman was wearing a full-contact sweater at practice for the first time, meaning he's very close to returning. Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic recently shared when Grizz is expected back:
''Matt Grzelcyk is day to day. Should make his debut before the end of next week.''
This is a huge positive for the Bruins, as Grzelcyk is returning close to a month sooner than expected, adding to a defense that is already without Charlie McAvoy.
Let's hope McAvoy and Brad Marchand are back earlier than expected too!
