The list is broken down into eight separate tiers, and they are as follows:
Tier eight Worst of the Worst (Two teams)
Tier seven Head barely above water (Two teams)
Tier six Notch below the playoffs (Four teams)
Tier five Standings purgatory (Eight teams)
Tier four Moderately dangerous (Five teams)
Tier three Scary at full potential (Four teams)
Tier two Secondary Cup favourites (Four teams)
Tier one Primary Cup favourites (Three teams)
So, which tier do the Boston Bruins fall into? Find out in the Instagram post by @allhockeyculture:
According to The Score, the Bruins are in tier four: Moderately Dangerous, or 'Probable playoff teams unlikely to go on a deep run.'' They also gave a little reasoning as to why:
''The Bruins are the swing team of the Atlantic Division.
Winning is in the core's DNA, with Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and David Krejci hoisting the Cup in 2011 and making the final in 2013. David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy joined them on the 2019 Cup Final team. However, Bergeron and Krejci are 37 and 36, respectively, and McAvoy, Marchand, and Matt Grzelcyk are injured to start 2022-23.
Bergeron just won his fifth Selke Trophy, but he's bound to decline at some point. Krejci played in the Czechia league last year, so there might be a readjustment period. Behind the bench, Bruce Cassidy is gone, and Jim Montgomery is in. Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark have serious potential as a tandem, though neither is Tuukka Rask yet.
In other words, getting a firm handle on the Bruins is difficult. They'll make the playoffs and could theoretically go on a deep run. Yet so much is up in the air.'' Personally, we feel like this is a fair judgement for the Bruins, as they will be without both Charlie McAvoy and Brad Marchand for an extended period of time. However, because of that very same reason, Boston may be the exact definition of tier three: 'Scary at full potential.''
