The Philadelphia Flyers are having an 'interesting'' offseason to say the least!
They started the summer by hiring one of the most controversial head coaches in NHL history in John Tortorella and followed that up by trading for defenseman Tony DeAngelo and signing him to a two-year, $10 million contract.
Perhaps the biggest mistake they made was reported by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman on his '32 Thoughts' podcast.
As per @nhlwatcher on Twitter:
'' Friedman on 32TP says Gaudreau wanted to go to Philly, that was his no.1 choice. Friedman was told Philly was never going to be in on Gaudreau but he refused to believe it, but they never were. Flyers were 40 pts out of the playoffs, does Gaudreau alone solve that problem?
