Top NHL Prospect Gets Sentenced To Jail After Being Convicted
In a startling revelation, Calgary Flames prospect Topi Rönni has been convicted of rape and sexual assault in his native Finland.
The former 59th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft faced charges for acts committed two years prior.
Despite his selection by the Flames, the organization claimed ignorance of any allegations against Rönni during the draft.
Now, Rönni faces one year of 'conditional imprisonment' in Finland for the heinous crime, as reported by Finnish publication Ilta Sanomat.
Rönni's sentencing sheds light on a dark chapter, raising questions about his future in hockey.
