Tyler Seguin shares how his NHL career was almost over at 29

Former second-overall pick of the Boston Bruins, Tyler Seguin, recently shared some shocking news regarding his NHL career.

Seguin has battled some significant injuries over the past few years that have taken a toll on his physical and mental health. Now in his 13th NHL season and has had issues with his hip, forcing him to undergo surgery that limited him to just three games during the 2020-2021 season.

In a recent interview with ''The Score'', the 30-year-old shared a conversation he had with a friend back in 2021.

''I looked over at my friend and said, 'I don't know if I'll ever be able to play anymore. My career might be over. This might be it.' I just didn't see any light at the end of the tunnel.' ''

''Whenever there are dark times, whenever I'm down, I think about that, about being in Muskoka, about where I've come from. That keeps you going.''

Prior to the 2018-19 season, the Brampton, Ontario native was a consistent 70 to 80-point player, but in two seasons since, his best was 50 in 81 games. Seguin has now admitted that he feels the best he's felt in years early into this season. Through six games, the veteran has 2 goals and 4 assists with the Stars.
