Captain Patrice Bergeron's future is still undecided, making Brad Marchand an even more critical piece in Boston. With three years remaining on his $6,125,000 contract, you could probably guess that any team in the NHL would love to have him.
This summer marks the end of a Full No-Movement Clause (NMC) that the two sides agreed upon when Marchand signed his 8-year, $49 million contract in 2016. He'll have to provide the Bruins with a list of six teams he would be willing to be traded to. The Bs are unlikely to trade him, but if they decide on a rebuild, Marchand should provide an excellent return.
Marchand's salary will be just $2,000,000 with bonuses totalling $3,000,000 plus. After 2022-23, the list grows to a 15-team no-trade list, but in the final year of the deal, the list changes back down to eight teams. The cap hit stays the same throughout the deal.
