How true is the old adage of A good defense is the best offense?
Travis Yost is well-known for his hockey analytics expertise and his contributions as a writer for TSN and the NHL.
Most recently, Jost ranked the depth of all 32 defensive cores in the NHL, putting them in the following tiers: Elite, Outperform, Solid, Underperform and In Trouble.
Where does the Boston Bruins' blue line fall in the rankings? Even when missing number one defenseman Charlie McAvoy for more than a month to start the season, the Bruins saw several others step up.
Most notably, Hampus Lindholm and Connor Clifton, as well as Derek Forbort, before his injury.
