A 20-year-old Halifax, Nova Scotia-born hockey player has unfortunately passed away in a tragic fire.

The incident happened, while Noah Latimer and his teammates were in a house that caught fire. Latimer played in the NSJHL with the Colts, and unlike his teammates was unable to escape the flames that engulfed the property.

"Three people who escaped the fire were injured, one with serious injuries. Once the fire was extinguished by the fire departments, human remains of one person were discovered inside.

The scene was held by the RCMP and the investigation is ongoing."

Latimer was also once a member of the MHL player for the Truro Junior A Bearcats and they confirmed four members who were involved in the tragedy were members of the team in the past.

We are absolutely heartbroken to hear about the tragic accident involving 4 of our alumni this past weekend resulting in the loss of one of our own.

Noah Latimer played parts of 2 seasons with the Bearcats in 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Rest easy 22, forever in our hearts.

Noah played where he was born, primarily in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the start of his career, before moving to New Brunswick.
