In recent news, the Winnipeg Jets have announced they are willing to move Nikolaj Ehlers In a trade which could be good news for the Boston Bruins who are looking for offense.

Ehlers has played entire career with The Jets which began in 2015 after he was drafted in the first-round 9th pick overall in 2014. Over the course of his nine years in the league, he has been a consistent point getter as thru seven of his nine years he's had over 25 goals per season.

Adding a player of his calibre would certainly bode well for the Bruins as Ehlers is a defensive forward. Short of one season in his career he has been a plus player in his plus minus by a significant amount.

During the 2023-2024 season, he had 25 goals with 36 assists for 61 points and was a fantastic plus 27.

The 28-year-old appears to need a change of scenery as he holds a modified no trade clause and has a cap hit of $6 million. The Bruins need a top six forward especially on the wing as the team found out over the course of this season, but they have a hard time scoring goals.

It's likely that general manager Don Sweeney will call jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff to inquire on what it would cost to see Ehlers in a Bruins uniform.
