Boston Bruins set to be involved in a monster three team trade
According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman of the 32 TP, the Carolina Hurricanes are looking for suitors for Martin Necas.
One of those teams could be the Boston Bruins who are looking to improve their top-six.
As the two teams recently discussed a Linus Ullmark trade at the deadline in March, could they revisit this as part of a three-team deal?
With the Hurricanes mediocre, netminding the team could look to improve between the pipes.
Linus Ullmark could be the ultimate bargaining chip for Don Sweeney in all of this, as they could swing for the fences in an attempt to trade for Martin Necas.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Necas would like to be moved as soon as possible:
32 Thoughts Podcast: Elliotte says while Necas hasn't said anything publicly, he thinks privately Necas made it pretty clear that he'd like to move on. Team has time before making a decision. Elliotte says things have picked up since the weekend. #CauseChaos #NHL
Could Linus Ullmark be "it" as part of a trade:
More on Necas: Elliotte has been told Carolina has talked to some teams about what they want. Some teams that may not have what Carolina is looking for may be looking at doing a three team deal. #CauseChaos #NHL
The Boston Bruins goalie was the 2022-203 Vezina Trophy winner, who has played 249 games in the NHL. He could be the answer for the Canes' playoff woes, sporting a 138-74-23 record, 2.52 GAA, and .918 career save percentage.
While Martin Necas is looking for a new home, has played 362 NHL games, posting 243 points( 97 G, 146 A), while playing 55 playoff games in Carolina, scoring 30 points( 11 G, 19 A) and could solve the Bruins offensive needs, on the 1st line, with David Pastrnak.
