A former first-round pick was just traded in a surprising deal.

Elliotte Friedman reported that the Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins have combined for a trade that sends 25-year old forward Cody Glass to the Penguins.

In return the Nashville Predators got Jordan Frasca. This move seems to be a salary dump by the Nashville Predators as he carries a $2.5 million salary and will become an RFA (restricted free agent) after this year.

Cody Glass only appeared in 41 games for the Nashville Predators last year and had 6 goals and 7 assists for 13 points.

The Vegas Golden Knights originally drafted Glass 6th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
